Public Transport

Buses:

Your nearest bus stop is around a 2-minute walk away on Jessup Road for service 81, linking to Thetford and Attleborough. Further services can be reached within approximately a 16-minute walk from The Crown Hotel along the B1108, which includes Bus services no. 3, 6, 11, 31 and X3 by Konect Bus, taking you into Norwich, Wymondham, Hethersett, Swaffham and Thetford. Don’t forget, if you would like to try local buses, you can claim your 2-weeks bus pass for services within the area. Just complete the short travel survey here or in the Smarter Travel Welcome Pack which you would have received when you moved into your new home.

Park & Ride:

If you travel into Norwich every day or even just occasionally, why not try the Park and Ride Service at Thickthorn? It is a great alternative to driving into the centre of Norwich and it’s often quicker as it takes advantage of the bus lanes heading into the city! Alternatively, if you are travelling to the UEA or Norwich and Norfolk Hospital, the Costessey Park and Ride include these locations. Trains:

Your nearest train station is located within Attleborough a 20-minute drive or within Brandon, which is also a 20-minute drive.

From Attleborough and Brandon station, the same direct services can reach Thetford, Norwich, Peterborough, Ely, Cambridge and Stansted Airport. At Attleborough Station, there are 18 cycle storage spaces and car park parking spaces available and at Brandon station, there are 10 cycle storage spaces and 5 car parking spaces available.

Railcards:

Railcards are a great way to save money (up to a third) on train travel. There are several cards available so most should be able to apply. Cards available are:

PlusBus:

If travelling to Norwich by train, why not add PlusBus to your ticket? For an additional £3.30 per day, you can have unlimited bus travel around Norwich, this includes the UEA, Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, Broadland Business Park and Norwich Airport! PlusBus is available in many other cities too including Cambridge.
