Smarter Travel holds first Travel Plan event at Stoke Quay

The first Travel Plan event held at Stoke Quay, Ipswich on behalf of Genesis Housing Association was a success and a huge thanks goes out to all the residents that attended and the support we had from the Smoothie Bike Company, Bike Register and Suffolk Kids Entertainers providing the entertainment, bicycle repairs, and Personal Travel Plans.

A lot of Personal Travel Plans were undertaken and we can hopefully provide residents with the all the potential sustainable travel options available to them. Residents will be given a £40 voucher to spend at Elmy Cycles in Ipswich and a voucher for a free bicycle service.

As part of the event the first official Car Club in Suffolk was introduced to residents, which is operated by Co-wheels; a social enterprise business to provide affordable access to a vehicle to support those making the change to sustainable travel modes but still need a car in their life. This initiative was well received and we will be closely monitoring its success to report back to the Local Authority for potential future Car Club sites in Ipswich!
