Ipswich is provided with many ways to explore the local area and surrounding countryside. For those who choose not to walk or cycle, utilising local public transport is a great alternative. If you’re of pensionable age or registered disabled you can obtain a bus pass from Suffolk County Council and will allow you to enjoy free off-peak travel (9.30am to 11.00pm Mon-Fri; All day Sat & Sun) on local buses anywhere in England. If you are unable to travel by conventional public transport, details on community Travel such as Dial-A-Ride can be found by clicking here or calling 01449 614271. This service provides a door-to-door local transport for mobility impaired people who are unable or find it difficult to use conventional buses and trains. Vehicles and minibuses are fitted with a wheelchair lift and other specialist equipment.
