Walking & Cycling

Walking is great for your health and is the only method of travelling that is completely free! Walking from Farrier’s Grange to the local shops, pub and bus stops can take less than 5 minutes to reach at an average pace, whilst walking to the train station should only take 12 minutes.  Refer to the interactive location map to view the proximity of Farriers Grange to local schools, amenities and public transport links.

Cycling is a great form of travel for both commuting to work or for leisure related journeys as it can be time and cost effective.  Several places within easy cycle distance include the Train Station, Moulton and Newmarket and cycle journeys can be planned on the Cycle Streets website.  Your employer may also have a government support bicycle purchase scheme that can allow you to effectively save the tax on the purchase of a bicycle for commuting.  If you require any further information please contact your Travel Plan Coordinator.

You can obtain a bespoke cycle route to a regular place of commute via a Personal Travel Plan.  As part of the commitment of Matthew Homes there will be an annual bicycle surgery that will be available for all residents and will allow you to get your bike safety checked for free.  You can also obtain a free goody bag of bicycle merchandise if you follow the Farriers Grange Facebook page and private message us with your name, address, and contact email, otherwise please contact your Travel Plan Coordinator directly for more information.

If you are interested in contributing to a Bicycle User Group for the Farriers Grange development then please contact your Travel Plan Coordinator.
