TRAVEL PLAN ASSISTANT
Love the idea of making travel more sustainable? We’re looking for a
proactive and creative team player to help deliver engaging Travel Plan
projects and campaigns that inspire real change.
You’ll support our Travel Plan Manager in rolling out community events,
surveys, and initiatives that champion walking, cycling, public transport, and
smarter travel choices. From crafting social media content and marketing
materials to analysing data and coordinating with clients and suppliers, every
day brings something different.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Support
the Travel Plan Manager with the timely and high-quality delivery of
projects.
- Assisting
in coordinating and delivering Travel Plan initiatives, events and
engagement activities within target communities to encourage sustainable
travel.
- Support
the planning and delivery of Travel Surveys in line with Company
procedures and data privacy requirements.
- Assisting
with writing and reviewing Travel Plan reports (including data analysis).
- Support
the production of digital and printed marketing material, including
copywriting.
- Assisting
with the creation of content for website pages.
- Working
alongside external marketing agencies, as appropriate.
- Promoting
sustainable travel news, initiatives and campaigns relevant to projects.
- Liaising
with suppliers to order, manage and track deliveries of project-related
materials and maintain inventory.
- Attend
site visits, site audits, meetings and promotional events when required
(may occasionally include evenings or weekends).
- Promoting
the Company, including contributing to social media platforms such as
Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Presenting
information to clients, stakeholders and the public with support from
senior team members.
- Build
positive working relationships with clients, contractors, internal
colleagues and external partners, such as Local Planning and Transport
Authorities.
- Maintain
an active interest in sustainable travel, transport policy and behaviour
change trends.
- Support
client and local authority ambitions for sustainable travel, including
walking, wheeling, cycling, public transport, car sharing, electric
vehicles and modal shift.
General
- Work
safely at all times, ensuring your own safety and that of others in the
Company.
- Work
within all Company procedures and protocols at all times.
- Undertake
other duties as reasonably requested by the Company.
Person Specification
Essential Knowledge / Experience /
Qualifications:
- Maths
and English at GCSE grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent).
- Good
written and verbal communication skills, including basic report writing.
- Ability
to analyse information and work with simple datasets (e.g. survey results)
- Confident
using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- An
interest in sustainable travel, transport planning, behaviour change or
marketing.
- Strong
organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet
deadlines.
- Good
interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with
different demographics (i.e. residents, employees, clients, colleagues).
- Willingness
to attend site visits, audits, meetings and events, occasionally outside
of normal working hours.
- Understanding
of the importance of quality output and attention to detail.
Desirable Knowledge / Experience /
Qualifications:
- Education,
placement or demonstratable experience in a transport, sustainability,
planning, marketing or community engagement related field.
- Experience
using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign and/or Illustrator.
- Experience
with website editing or content management systems (e.g. WordPress).
- Experience
supporting or organising events or community engagement activities.
- Full
UK driving licence.
