Community Travel

Your community is provided with many ways to explore the local area and surrounding countryside. For those who choose not to walk or cycle, utilising local public transport is a great alternative. Here we have provided links below to help you reduce the cost of public transport, including up to a 30% discount on rail travel (T&C’s apply). Click here to apply for further information.

If you’re 60+, or eligible for a disabled bus pass it allows you to enjoy free off-peak travel (09:30 am until 11:00 pm – Mon-Fri; All day; Sat, Sun & Bank Holidays) on local buses anywhere in England. Either visit the Suffolk on Board website or call 0345 045 1367 to apply for your bus pass.

If you are unable to travel by conventional public transport, details on community travel such as Dial-A-Ride can be found by calling 01449614271.  This service provides a door-to-door local transport for mobility impaired people who are unable or find it difficult, to use conventional buses and trains. Vehicles are fitted with a wheelchair lift and other specialist equipment.  Other options include Newmarket Voluntary Network (01638 608022) or you can contact your Travel Plan Coordinator who can assist you with obtaining the relevant information.
