It is recommended by medical professionals that adults get 150 minutes of exercise per week (30 minutes per day over five days). Walking and cycling are excellent ways to achieve this, sometimes without even realising it!
You can use the Explore Kent website to find information about nearby walking trails and events.
Check out the East Kent Walking Group who are a proud member of Ramblers and host regular walks across the Faversham and wider area.
Using the train? Why not cycle the 8-minute journey to Whitstable Train Station. You can either take your bike with you on the train or leave it in one of the 32 cycle storage spaces at the station, and there is a bike repair stand and tyre pump available next to the Whitstable Cycle Hub.
Claim your voucher! Each household is entitled to claim a £50 active travel voucher (or 2 x 1-week bus vouchers, if you’d prefer). This can be redeemed at Decathlon or similar. You are free to spend your voucher on anything Decathlon offers, whether this is a contribution towards a new bike or perhaps some cycling equipment, such as lights or a lock and clothing or some walking boots. To claim your voucher, all you need to do is complete this short online Pearson Heights Travel Survey. We will then take care of the rest for you.
Your local Halfords offers free 30-minute E-Bike trials so you can try before you buy! Visit Halfords at Prospect Retail Park anytime between 8am – 7pm on weekdays, 8am – 6pm on Saturdays or 10am – 5pm on Sundays.
